Instead of the usual paging turning drama, and passion this novel relies on history and a go-gettum' gypsy grandma saving allied prisoners with grandpa to be in a prime supporting role. But since we all knew both survived the war it took the edge off of what could have been nail biting scenes. Meanwhile, Cassie and Drake's mom are kidnapped on the eve of Cassie's wedding by a confessed serial killer ( who doesn't!). The killer is seeking knowledge of the location of stolen gold from the war era plus retribution for his own father's death at the hands of the resistance (who he betrayed by the way). Drake of course is beside himself casting self-blame for the kidnapping and desperation as the clock races to a point of give the killer the info or have his mother killed.It's all kind of convoluted and thus my title: A Little Disappointed!! Better luck next time CJ...and please don't make us wait too long.

Book completely fell apart. Very poor quality! Great book when pages weren't falling out!
There's not enough descriptive words to tell you how wonderful this author is. I have read almost everything CJ had written and have not had one moment where I wasn't thoroughly entertained!!! What a fabulous series this is!!
OMG! This whole series is so explosive. I couldn't put it down. I wanted to try to help, yell look out! At times I think I was hyperventilating or holding my breath. I hope there will be another book out soon. An update. Please!!!!!
Plot centers on a family feud with grudges and vividly portrayed emotions. Gypsy life during WW2 is fascinating. I have read several books by this author including in the Hart Drake series. This is the most unique yet and everything is topped off by a stupendous exciting ending.
C.J Lyons does it again with one of her Hart and Drake novels. She grabs you by the short hairs and never let's go. Of course, I was totally intrigued by the fact that this would be a wedding thriller. Hart and Drake will worm their way under your skin. It's such an amazing give and take between the two characters that they grow on you as if they were real. In case someone wonders. This a super tale that jumps back to the 1930s and then to today, every few pages.
Read about gypsy vendetta’s, family payback after treachery in the past.
Nobody lives their lives like the gypsies, never, ever forgetting the past feuds.
Someone has to pay in the modern world for an event that happened before World War 11.
Grissly stories abound and nobody can escape. Once marked beware of your downfall. This author pulls no punches as page after page makes you squirm in your seat as the net tightens more every hour.
This is suitable for persons who love tales of the gypsies.
This truly is a "Thriller with Hart"! I have loved the story of Hart and Drake and this just topped it like nothing else could! This is a book within a book. A psychopath with a grudge that goes back more then fifty years kidnapped Heart the day before their wedding and Drake must work through the clues to find her and Heart must use her wits to stay alive as she unravels the mystery through the telling of her grandparents story. The ending is a shocker and gave me goosebumps!
